How Do I Update To The Latest Version Of TradeStation?

Hello,

Ensuring you are on the latest version of Trade Station is important in order to successfully install your TSL Indicators.

At the time of writing, the latest version of TradeStation is: Version 10.0 (Base) Date 6/17/2022

In order to receive updates from Trade Station, your accounts must be funded. If your account is not funded, Trade Station will not update to the latest version and therefore you will not be able to install the TSL indicators and chart templates.

If your account is funded, by default, Trade Station should automatically update to the latest version/update of the software each time you close down and re-launch the program.

However, there are some instances in which Trade Station will not automatically update.

This might be the case if your Windows operating system is not updated to the latest version.

Written Instructions For Updating Windows & TradeStation:

  1. To update Windows, follow these steps (link) from the Microsoft Support center.
  2. Once you have updated your Windows operating system using the "Window Update" application, please restart your computer.
  3. Once your PC/Laptop is up to date, proceed to open the TradeStation platform and check the update status
    1. Click Help --> About Trade Station.


    2. If you're TradeStation is still not on Version 10.0 (Base) Date 6/17/2022, simply re-start your TradeStation platform 2 or 3 times for the updates to complete.
      1. For example, if you are on Update 57, then quit TradeStation then re-launch it.
      2. When you re-launch it, wait for the TradeStation to perform its updates (this could take several minutes)
      3. Log back into your account in Simulated Trading. 
      4. Click Help --> About TradeStation
      5. Check to see if it updated past Update 57 (in this example)
      6. If it is updated to the 06/17/22 update you are all set.
      7. If it is updated to Update 58 or 59, then repeat the above steps (Shut down Tradestation, Relaunch It, Wait for updates, Log In then check to see if it updated)

  5. There are several solutions that TradeStation can recommend:
    1. They will share with you “update files” that you can manually install in order to force your TradeStation to update.
    2. If the above solution does not work, they will have you back up your TradeStation, Uninstall it then Reinstall the software in order to force TradeStation to update to the latest version/build.
